Garlic Has Only Modest Effects in Treating High Cholesterol Levels
Sunday December 14, 2003
A study recently published in the Annals of Internal Medicine studied the effects of garlic on cholesterol levels. While garlic faired better than the placebo in lowering cholesterol levels, this effect was only minimal. There has been a large debate as to whether or not garlic is effective in lowering cholesterol levels, since the studies are so conflicting. Although consuming garlic will not hurt you, be sure not to solely rely on garlic alone if you are having problems with high cholesterol.
