Is the Atkins Diet Safe?

The Atkins diet has gained popularity over the past few years or so due to its unique, yet rewarding, approach to weight loss. There are a vast number of individuals who have attempted this diet and have reaped the benefits of quick weight loss. I tried it, but I just couldn't bring myself to give up pasta. There are numerous sources in scientific journals that suggest simple carbohydrates contribute to lowering HDL levels (good cholesterol) and that the Atkins diet can also lower cholesterol levels just as effectively as any cholesterol lowering diet, but none of these studies have analyzed the long term effects of the Atkins diet. Last week in Florida, a lawsuit was filed against Atkins Nutritionals. The plantiff states that two years on the Atkins diet left him with clogged arteries.Read more about it..
