Dutch Insurance Company to Cover Cholesterol-Lowering Foods

The Dutch health insurance company, VGZ, is going to begin reimbursing its patients for the cholesterol-lowering foods that they purchase. More specifically, they are going to cover yogurt, milk, margarine, and other cholesterol-lowering food products manufactured by Unilever. The insurance company, which covers over two million patients, is covering some cholesterol-lowering foods in an effort to reduce the deadly effects of heart disease. This is the first time that a health insurance company has covered food under its policy.Read more about it.
