Good Cholesterol Levels Drop During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, many biological processes change. A arecent article published in the June 1st issue of American Journal of Epidemiology reveals that pregnancy causes HDL levels, otherwise known as the "good cholesterol", to decrease. The decrease in HDL appeared to persist for up to ten years in some women, but did not decrease further with subsequent pregnancies. Of course, more research would be needed to establish this trend and what significance it would have in these women longterm. Read more here.
