Beware of High Triglycerides
Thursday October 30, 2008
When you hear about heart disease, which lipid do you hear most about the most? LDL, or the "bad" cholesterol, of course. In fact, it is this form of cholesterol that your healthcare provider will gauge your risk of heart disease and treatment progression. But a recent study published Current Atherosclerosis Reports suggests that you probably need to be watching for another lipid in the blood, too, in order to assess your risk of heart disease - triglycerides. In fact, it is now suggested that high triglycerides should be counted as an independent risk factor for heart disease. Reducing your triglycerides could reduce your risk of heart disease or death in the future.

I was under the wrong notion that only cholesterol is the risk factor for heart diseases but have recently came across some information about triglycerides. Can you please suggest some easy remedies for this? Thank you.
