Studies have shown that soluble fiber has the ability to help you to lower your cholesterol. Specifically, it binds to LDL cholesterol in your small intestine and prevents it from entering your blood. Many health organizations, including the American Heart Association and the National Cholesterol Education Program, recommend adding soluble fiber to your cholesterol-lowering diet.
