Holiday parties are associated with many happy memories -- family, friends, and -- of course -- good food. Unfortunately, consuming some of these fattening foods can spell disaster for your cholesterol-lowering efforts. But if you’re being 'good' and not touching these foods, this may also put a damper on your fun. Whether you are preparing or eating the food, how do you stick with your cholesterol-lowering diet while still enjoying the food festivities at parties? Share Your Party Tips

Don't swallow the whole buffet line!

I try to be very careful when I'm out eating. Especially if I know there's going to be a lot of fatty food. I will take a little bit of healthier foods on my plate and take my time eating it and try to socialize at much as I can at the party. I find that if I'm talking, then I am not eating as much (or eating out of boredom).
