Cholesterol
- I keep a close eye on my carbohydrate consumption. Keeping insulin low. I found is the ticket to keeping cholestrol down. Very little to no junk food. For me , 50 to 80 carbs is my daily intake. Good carbs found in fruits and veggies. The Paleo way of eating gave me the energy I was looking for. My cholesterol came down 181 points. I don't eat 2-3 hrs. before going to bed. I make sure the room is pitch dark. I sleep 8hrs. 10pm to 6am. I pre-prepare food. I always have something in the fridge to eat. Too many carbs do and over eating does, eating too late does. And junk food does. Meat, eggs, seafood, fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds. That's what works for me. THE BODY WILL DO THE REST. Oh yeh, and a few glasses of water a day depending on level of exercise.

Chicken and Turkey
- I am not eating any red meat anymore. I have been eating only chicken and turkey if I need meat in my diet and add spices to give it some taste.

bad cholesterol
- I just found out I have very high cholesterol. I have been doing everything right all my life-eating small quantities lean meat and sparserly, eating lots of colourful veggies and fruit daily, no alcohol, cigarettes and fried foods at a minimum. I keep very active. No family history of high cholesterol. Well, I still got high cholesterol. The only thing that I can think of is stress-I am under constant stress, at work, and at home. This is the only factor I attribute to my cholesterol levels. So, I will try to relax (not easy), started yoga (not helped yet), and perhaps find time to smell the roses and find relaxation that way.

Changing Blood Chemistry
- 1.I stopped eating meat completely as it is red meat . 2.I eat chicken only one a week ; that too very less about 2 leg pieces. 3.I included fish in diet 3-4 times a week - mostly only gravy not fried fish.If at all I eat fried fish, I restricted my intake to 2 pieces AFTER BLOTTING WITH TISSUE PAPER TO REMOVE EXTRA OIL. 3. I added Olive oil and flax seed to my diet 4. I stopped eating all OTHER fried things. 5. Most important of all, I snack on all fresh & helthy fruits whenever I am hungry between meals With all the above measures, my cholestoral is under control. However, I will start exercising & walking which lower my bad cholesterol that is LDL.Now, I find very less time to start exercise as I am a mother of two kids and working too. That is why I started with diet first.

Use Lean Cuts
- I like meat, and refused to cut back when I found out my cholesterol was too high. But, I don't eat it everyday anymore, and I use leaner cuts and I have found that my cholesterol levels have dipped down a little. I've also found that switching over to ground turkey sometimes for burgers and such doesn't hurt either.
