Apolipoprotein B

Definition: Apolipoprotein B is a major protein that makes up low-density liporprotein, or LDL cholesterol. Apo B is involved in transporting cholesterol and triglycerides to cells and tissues in the body and consists of two main types: B-100 and B-48.

High levels of apo B could be indicative of an increased risk of heart disease.
